Permanent waves make use of a chemical process which produces long-lasting curls unless new hair grows longer. Upon application of chemicals, heat is applied to enclose the chemical inside the hair strands.
Another method in curling or waving the hair is with the use of a hot curling iron. After combing the hair, it can be styled using the curling iron.

Blackheads are also termed as an open comedo. Whiteheads, on the other hand appears when dead skin cells and excess oil block the pore opening.
