Dressing Up for Work

It is important to look professional at work; how people look at work tells a lot on his/her corporate goals. Looking professional also earns you respect from colleagues so here are some basic do’s and don’ts on dressing up for work.

Casual clothing like jeans, shirts and sundresses are really not appropriate for work. Do not wear clothes that show cleavage, back, chest or stomach. Do not also wear shirts that are too short or those that are way above your knee. Unironed, worn-out and dirty shirts are also unacceptable for work.

For women, one-piece suit is perfect for work; they give a professional but really trendy appeal. Slacks, pants and shirts that are above the knee are also acceptable. Even in casual business setting, these types of dress are not appropriate.

Putting accessories are also good and acceptable but it should only be in limited number. It is important to look unified and professional. Too much piercings is also not appropriate.

For shoes, wearing closed heeled shoes are required in some companies.

There are also some kinds of a dress code that companies usually require their employees. So the basic goal here is to look professional and comply with the companies rules.
